Dedicated Team of Ministers

                                                                                    Ordained Pastors & Officiants

  • Dr. Mel McGee is an ordained Christian Pastor and board-certified counselor who leads the spiritual and clinical care.
  • The practice dedicated team are all Ordained Ministers who serve specifically as licensed officiants to perform wedding ceremonies and provide spiritual mentorship to couples.

Connecting this to the legal frameworks and local practices in Bexar County, AMM coordinates with Texas laws through specific guidelines:

1. Legal Officiant Authority in Texas

  • The Statute: Under Texas Family Code § 2.202, an officer of a religious organization who is authorized by that organization—including online ordained ministers through AMM—is legally permitted to solemnize marriages.

Because AMM grants official ministerial status, an individual holding an AMM ordination technically falls under the blanket religious exemptions for counseling outlined in Texas Occupations Code § 502.004. However, there is a major practical caveat:

  • To legally utilize the exemption from state counseling licensure, you must perform counseling exclusively within the scope and ministerial capacity of a recognized religious organization.
  • Because AMM functions primarily as an online ordination network for wedding solemnization rather than a traditional church body with an active local congregation, independent practitioners using an AMM title for broad marital counseling face significantly higher legal and liability risks if they do not also operate under an established local auxiliary or church structure.

  • In Arizona, duly licensed or ordained clergy, judges, and justices of the peace are legally authorized to perform a marriage ceremony.

  • According to Arizona Revised Statutes § 25-124, the following people can marry you:

  • Duly licensed or ordained clergymen, ministers, or elders
  • Judges of courts of record
  • Municipal court judges
  • Justices of the peace
  • Federal judges, including U.S. Supreme Court justices, bankruptcy judges, and tax court judges.
