Transformative counseling for mind, body, and spirit

At Covington-McGee Wedding & Christian ( Arizona Covenant Christian Counseling) , the "Total Person Healthcare" model is designed to be transformative by simultaneously addressing your emotional , physical, and spiritual health. Dr. McGee believes that a breakdown in one area often signals a need for healing in the others.

                                    Our distinctive counseling services

Covington-McGee Wedding & Christian Counseling ( Arizona Covenant Christian Counseling) offers distinctive services by merging high-level clinical certification with deep pastoral ministry. Their "Total Person Healthcare" model sets them apart from traditional secular clinics.

                                                                                Specialized Clinical-Pastoral Counseling

These services are uniquely tailored to address the "unseen wounds" of life:

  • Military & Veteran Support: Specialized care for PTSD, deployment stress, and the transition to civilian life.
  • Bereavement & End-of-Life: Compassionate guidance for those facing terminal illness or the loss of a loved one.
  • Grief & Trauma Recovery: Focused sessions to help survivors move past significant life "storms."
  • Life Transitions: Support for career changes, retirement, or moving into new phases of life.

💍 Advanced Marriage Services

The practice uses industry-leading tools to build and restore relationships:

  • SYMBIS Assessment: A research-based "mapping" tool used to predict and prevent marital stress points.
  • Twogether in Texas: A certified program that provides state-recognized discounts on marriage licenses.
  • Covenant Counseling: Shifting the focus from legal contracts to spiritual partnerships.

⚓ The "Total Person" Difference

What makes their counseling truly distinctive is the integration of three domains:

  1. Clinical Expertise: Utilizing board-certified psychological techniques.
  2. Biblical Authority: Anchoring every solution in the Word of God.
  3. Financial Accessibility: Operating as a mission with sliding-scale fees to ensure no one is turned away due to low income.

Radical Financial Accessibility

We believe healing should be accessible to all. Our sliding scale fees, as low as $10–$70, ensure vital support regardless of financial status.

Finding healing at every crossroads

Covington-McGee Wedding & Christian Counseling ( Arizona Covenant Christian Counseling) specializes in helping individuals and couples find their footing when they reach a "crossroads"—those critical life moments where a wrong turn feels devastating. Dr. Mel McGee provides a biblical compass to help you choose the path toward restoration.

                                                                                           Navigating Life's Crossroads

Whether you are facing a crisis of faith, a relationship breakdown, or a major life transition, the chapel offers a structured way to find your direction:

  • The Marriage Crossroads: For couples deciding between separation or reconciliation, Dr. McGee uses the SYMBIS assessment to identify if the path forward requires better communication or deep spiritual healing.
  • The Identity Crossroads: Helping individuals (especially Veterans and Active Duty) navigate the transition between military and civilian life or recovering their sense of self after trauma.
  • The Grief Crossroads: Guiding those at the intersection of loss and "moving on," providing a safe space to mourn while anchoring future hope in Scripture.

⚓ The Healing Process

At a crossroads, the "Total Person" approach ensures you don't just make a decision, but that you heal in the process:

  • Clarity through Prayer & Scripture: Using the Bible as the ultimate roadmap to clear away the "fog" of indecision.
  • Clinical Insight: Addressing the anxiety and stress that often paralyze people when they face big changes.
  • The "Peace Plan": Developing a concrete set of steps to ensure that the new path you choose leads to long-term "spiritual peace and happiness."

“Are you spiritually rooted but emotionally stuck?”

Being "rooted" in your faith but "spiritually stuck" in your circumstances is a common struggle that Covington-McGee Wedding & Christian Counseling ( Arizona Covenant Christian Counseling) is specifically designed to address. This state often feels like having a strong foundation but being unable to grow or move forward due to trauma, grief, or unresolved conflict.

What it Means to be "Spiritually Stuck"

Dr. McGee identifies several reasons why people with deep roots often stop growing:

  • Unprocessed Trauma: Past wounds (like PTSD or childhood hurt) acting as invisible anchors.
  • The "Valley" Seasons: Long periods of grief or loss that make God’s voice feel distant.
  • Relational Friction: Marriage or family issues that drain the energy needed for spiritual growth.
  • Life Transitions: Feeling lost after retirement, a career change, or military discharge.

🕊️ The Process of "Unsticking"

Our Total Person Healthcare approach provides the tools to help you break through:

  • Identifying the Blockage: We use clinical and biblical insights to find exactly where the "spirit, soul, or body" is restricted.
  • Renewing the Mind: Moving beyond "just praying about it" to applying practical, scriptural steps to change your thought patterns.
  • Covenant Restoration: For couples, we use the SYMBIS assessment to reveal hidden friction points that keep the marriage from flourishing.

🌱 Moving Toward Wholeness

The goal is to move you from survival back into spiritual peace and happiness.

  • Active Guidance: Dr. McGee acts as a spiritual navigator to help you find the path forward.
  • Empowerment: You receive a "Spiritual Peace Plan" to help you maintain momentum on your own.
